Personalization, Themes & Appearance
Tune how Maximo AI sounds and how the app looks and behaves. Personalization, theme, and composer choices are account-global, so they follow you across every workspace and device. Appearance and behavior live under Settings > Appearance, while Maximo's voice lives under Settings > Personalization.
- Chat Personality: pick how Maximo writes from eight presets — Default, Friendly, Efficient, Professional, Candid, Quirky, Cynical, and Nerdy — and switch anytime.
- Custom Instructions: add plain-language guidance (e.g. 'prefer concise answers; use bullet points'), up to 1,500 characters, with one-click suggestion chips.
- About You: optional nickname, occupation, traits you want in replies, and a free-text note so answers feel more personal.
- A master switch turns all Maximo personalization on or off; when on, it shapes tone, style, and format only — it never overrides safety, your workspace role, factual accuracy, tool rules, or the language you write in.
- Themes: choose a colour family — Maximo (default teal), Anthropic (warm clay), Codex (monochrome black & white), Google (Material blue/green/amber/red), GitHub (slate navy), or Linear (indigo) — each with full day and night variants.
- Mode: pick System (follow your device's light/dark setting), Light, or Dark; the sun/moon toggle flips day and night within the current theme.
- Send key: choose whether the chat composer sends on Cmd/Ctrl+Enter (default, Enter adds a new line) or on Enter (modifiers add a new line). The choice applies to the main composer, side chat, and the chat popout.
- Response length: set a default hint for Maximo's replies — Concise, Balanced, or Detailed.
- Personalization adds a small amount of context to each chat, so Custom Instructions and About You are length-capped to keep usage predictable.
